Not only are there a wealth of performances taking place this week, but some of the coolest bands in town are also dropping new albums. There must be something in the fall air that’s really firing up people’s creative juices.

Prism turns dancers into kaleidoscopic illusions
What do you get if you combine five contemporary hip-hop dancers with a room full of moving mirrors? Magic. “With dance, because we don’t use a narrative, we create abstract worlds,” explains Prism choreographer Emmanuelle Lê Phan. “A lot of people say it’s a bit hypnotic. It’s very mathematical, but could also be a very spiritual experience, as well.”
