Plus: The bottomless brunch that comes with a cold catch
Hi there. It’s a big weekend coming up in Vancouver. For one, it might not rain constantly, and two, there are a couple rather huge events coming up. If someone asks you, “Did you get tickets for it???” they are probably talking about English producer Fred again…’s show at the Convention Centre. Yes, he styles his name like that, and no, I’m not really sure how the Convention Centre is going to hold a massive concert, but I’m excited to see how it plays out.
The other thing they could be asking you about is the Vancouver Whitecaps home watch party at BC Place, which was also selling out fairly quickly. The ’Caps are two wins away from an MLS championship. Go, boys, go.

The bottomless brunch that requires you to freeze your butt off

No, that’s not a cult milling out there by the water. That’s a bunch of people participating in the Fairmont Waterfront’s Polar Plunge, a $179 affair that includes unlimited brunch, a hot toddy, access to the hotel’s pool and hot tub, and, apparently most importantly, waddling into the freezing cold ocean. Was it worth it? Alyssa Hirose dives in.
