Hey there.

As is tradition for a long weekend, the lovely weather has gone to ensure that you spend your extra day of freedom wondering if it's going to rain. On the plus side, it'll be easier to snag swim session spots at Hillcrest if nobody else wants to jump in the pool with you.

Future Geographies imagines different worlds at the Vancouver Art Gallery

A whale skeleton sculpted from plastic chairs. A philosopher's garden made of cables. A plastic jug, suspended from a sculpture made of fishing nets. Future Geographies is a new landmark exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery that examines contemporary art's relationship to climate change, where all these works and more reflect on the state of the world. “Artists are not scientists,” curator Eva Respini tells the Straight, “but they do have a role to play in how we might imagine our shared future on this planet.”
