June 24 2025: Nardwuar hits it out of the park
Plus: A free summer music festival and a new burrito spot
Hey there. Looking through the stats on our website, I noticed something weird: one single Confession has been getting big traffic numbers for months. The post, from March, is titled “Jim Carrey on Grief”.
It’s a very sweet post about how grief isn’t weak and love never truly goes away. Clearly it resonates with people. The problem is that beloved comedian (and less-beloved anti-vaxxer) Jim Carrey didn’t say it. In fact, no human did. According to Snopes, the text first appeared on a random Facebook page, and was likely AI generated.
The robots are coming for us, one set of platitudes at a time.

Nardwuar makes his major league baseball debut
The Great White North’s most beloved interviewer is currently touring the U.S. with Nardwuar’s Video Vault. And while we can all agree that things are going a bit dystopian down south, there are still some good parts—like sports. So, Nardwaur throwing the first pitch at a Chicago Cubs game is kind of like the best of both worlds. Just let him back across the border safely, okay?
