Kay Huang's latest dance work tells the story of migration: both her own, and that of her mother. “It’s a piece about my story moving from Hong Kong to Vancouver in 1975, interwoven with my mom’s story between 1935 and 1975,” Huang tells the Straight ahead of 安/GIRL UNDER's premiere this week. “It’s her war story, really, going from Guangzhou to Hong Kong, back to Guangzhou and back to Hong Kong, and finally to Vancouver.”
